Saturday - July 15
Saturday turned out to be an extra day. We started by casually strolling down to breakfast. Afterwards, we went inside to a little room where we usually had our nightly devotion. Pastor Mark had arranged for Pastor Junior and Rosa to bring over wine and wafers the night before. So today he conducted a morning devotion and we were able to take communion together. It was very emotional to come before God in such a way with just our group.
Since we had time, Sarah decided to conduct a clinic with the people of the hotel and restaurant. We had about 25 people who came into her hotel room. It was great to be able to help them with eyeglasses, especially since they were such great hosts to us during our stay there. Hector, who was the security guard, was among those who came. He was always there with a friendly smile each day.
We usually went to Tito’s for dinner. We developed a habit of having ice cream out of a cooler most nights. Once Pastor Mark and Paul found out that they were eating Linda’s favorite ice cream bar, it became a joke that they tried to get to the cooler first.
After Sarah’s devotion on Joy and Family, we headed to our rooms to get ready to travel back home the next day.
